Those that frown on “Pills and Potions” are probably frustrated and floundering with some other product.
Today, I caught an article in the LA Times that provides a clear picture of the Dietary Supplement Industry.
“More than half of Americans take at least one dietary supplement, according to a new government study — and the numbers are steadily growing.”
Okay, how many millions are in the USA? Hmmmm more than half are our target market. About 150 Million People.
The article goes on to provide data that women are more likely to consume supplements. In fact about 60% take supplements for Calcium and over 50% consume supplements for Vitamin D.
Now everyone is looking for something different. A higher quality, a better price, sexy or youthful packaging to make me feel good about myself for taking it, ingredient combinations to insure absorption, inclusion of “Buzz Ingredients” like Mangostien or Acai Berry.
Do some research on your own. Poll fifty people; friends, family, and strangers.
What Supplements do you take and Why?
How often and how many?
What Supplements would you like to take and why?
What packaging do you like and why?
What ingredients do you look for and why?
What ingredients would you like to see and why?
What flavors would you like to see and why?
What deliverables interest you and why?
….example: gum, melt in mouth strips, spray, gel, paste, cream, lip balm, tablet, gel capsule, candy, etc.
